Vikings Star WR Jordan Addison Arrested Outside of LAX: Police

Police arrested Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison outside of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on Friday evening, July 12, 2024, the California Highway Patrol said in a news release obtained by Heavy.

Officers with the California Highway Patrol took Addison into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to the report, which was emailed to Heavy by the CHP’s Southern Division on July 14.

A CHP West Los Angeles officer responded to a report of a disabled vehicle blocking lanes on Interstate 105, also known as the Glenn Anderson Freeway, westbound to Sepulveda Boulevard about 11:06 p.m. on July 12, the report states.

“The officer observed a white Rolls-Royce blocking the #1 lane of traffic of I-105 westbound to Sepulveda Boulevard northbound, with the driver asleep behind the wheel,” according to the report.

“After a DUI investigation was completed, the driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence,” at 11:36 p.m., the report states. The report identifies the driver as Addison. Police released him from custody on July 13 at 1:36 a.m., according to the report. The CHP told Heavy in an email that no other information about the incident is publicly available as of the evening of July 14.

Addison, 22, played the final year of his collegiate career at University of Southern California in 2022, where he caught 59 passes for 875 receiving yards and 8 TDs during his junior season, per Sports Reference.

Now 22 years old, Addison won the 2021 Fred Biletnikoff Award as the best wideout in the nation after his sophomore campaign at the University of Pittsburgh, where he hauled in 100 receptions for 1,593 yards and 17 scores.

The Vikings selected Addison with the No. 23 overall pick in the first round of the 2023 NFL draft, after which Minnesota signed him to a four-year contract worth a total of $13.7 million that includes a fifth-year team option. He recorded 70 catches for 911 yards and 10 TDs as a standout rookie playing alongside All-Pro receiver Justin Jefferson.


Jordan Addison Has History of Traffic Violations Since Joining Vikings

The Los Angeles Daily News reported that Timothy Younger, Addison’s agent, “did not immediately respond” to a request for comment made via email on the afternoon of July 14.

The publication added that the Vikings issued a statement saying, “We are aware of Jordan Addison’s arrest this past Friday and are currently gathering more information regarding the incident.”

Police previously cited Addison in July 2023 after pulling him over for driving 140 mph in a 55 mph zone in Minnesota, according to The Associated Press. Addison told the Minnesota state trooper who stopped him that he was driving so fast because of an emergency involving his dog, the AP reported at the time.

Addison pleaded guilty to that misdemeanor speeding charge in August 2023 and paid $686 in fees and fines, according to Pro Football Talk.
