Marsha was there for Robin while he battled addiction over the years. It was reported that Robin’s relapse after 20 years of sobriety was a big factor in his divorce with Marsha.

Williams confessed to Parade:

One day I walked into a store and saw a little bottle of Jack Daniel’s. And then that voice — I call it the ‘lower power’ — goes, ‘Hey. Just a taste. Just one.’ I drank it, and there was that brief moment of ‘Oh, I’m okay!’ But it escalated so quickly. Within a week I was buying so many bottles I sounded like a wind chime walking down the street.

Recently, Robin Williams checked into rehab just for “maintenance” purposes.

The movies are good, but a lot of times they don’t even have distribution. There are bills to pay. My life has downsized, in a good way. I’m selling the ranch up in Napa. I just can’t afford it anymore. … Well, not all. Lost enough. Divorce is expensive. I used to joke they were going to call it ‘all the money,’ but they changed it to ‘alimony.’ It’s ripping your heart out through your wallet. Are things good with my exes? Yes. But do I need that lifestyle? No.

Williams lost millions in his divorce to Marsha. It was Marsha who pulled the trigger on the breakup, citing irreconcilable differences.

  1. Robin was a gteat gift I am soso sad to a man that loved his family so much! I saw him a few months ago on tv interview taking about his money situation. I could see the sadness in his eyes that he was very sad! Too bad is ex took him for all his money! I can tell he loved his children so much! Robin u will bring joy to heaven!

    • It was depression. Alcohol and drugs were his own administered medication. He couldn’t escape the black slimy hole he sank into. The pain is so great, actually physical and mental pain, that no matter how much stuff you abuse it devours you. You can’t find joy in anything not even the people you love more than your life.

    • I agree he should have never married this third wife, she had him out of her way and she started her day and left the house without even checking on her” love of her life” as she likes to call it, may have stayed closer to second wife and children that way

  2. I think it’s a shame how people are stripped of all their finances in a divorce. I think the laws need to change to insure that monies are securely put up for the children and not to provide the lifestyles of the parent. At best it should be a 50/50 split. In some cases you have a person who built their empire long before their spouse was around then they divorce after a couple of years and gets more than half which is totally wrong. But, it goes to show you what goes around comes back to you. Look at Robin William’s 2nd wife, she messed around with him as the nanny and then 19yrs. after their marriage he did the same thing to her.

    • Agree completely. Children should be protected from greedy ex-spouses who want to walk away with money they didn’t earn.

In this case, alimony helped to kill him. I hope his ex-wife is happy.

      • No amount of money would help alleviate his demons. I’m sure his wife/wives put up with a lot of crap. It’s not easy living with someone with addictions/depression. He was a serial cheater too. She is a person in her own right – with a right to a fulfilling life too. It’s ridiculous to assume alimony helped kill him.

        • How the heck do you know what contributed to killing him? Were you in his head? You’ve got one hell of a gold digger mindset. Why are you named harmony, anyway? It sounds spiritual, but on you and the tripe you spill it comes off just like a bargain basement stripper name.

    • No she is not happy. His DEATH is not enough for her. Now she wants money from his estate. May she burn in hell.

  3. The divorce system in this country has to be reformed to stop being so ridiculously favorable to greedy women like this. Men are devils women are angels, that’s the message of the media and the political left. It’s bullshit and men need to start standing up to it. Don’t be passive like Robin Williams, fight. If I were Robin Williams I would have publicly denounced my ex-wife rather than killed myself.

  4. This is an undescrivable loss to mankind. Such a beautiful person. He is the “Mona Lisa” of laughter. Humanity will surely miss such an icon. Irreplaceable !!!

    • HE failed himself. No one is responsible for another person’s happiness. He is responsible. He was a talented comedian and actor, but he was the source of his many problems. He became addicted, he was depressed and maybe bipolar – his spouse, mother, or whoever did not cause that. He did. He knew that – I never read that he blamed anyone but himself for his problems because he probably knew that is the truth. Are we to praise him because he took drugs, drank and struggled with that and at times overcame them? No, we can acknowledge he had a problem, but we shouldn’t blame his spouse. What about all those talented people who choose not to get involved in these addictive activities? We should praise them for what they didn’t go through.
