Havard Rugland became a Youtube sensation with his trick-shot video called Kickalicious that shows him kicking and punting a football from as far away as 60 yards and at incredible angles. Check it out above.
2. He Signed With the Detroit Lions
As soon as Jason Hanson retired from the team, the Detroit Lions signed a deal with the 6-foot-2, 240-pound Rugland, along with David Akers, reports the New York Daily News. However, the Lions declined to disclose any details about the deal.
3. The Video Led to an Unsuccessful Tryout With the New York Jets
Rugland also tried out with the New York Jets in December, but didn’t make the team.
4. Rugland Used to Play Soccer
Rugland started out playing amateur soccer in Norway before gaining an interest in American football after watching the Super Bowl in 2011.
5. He’s Training With NFL Kicker Michael Husted
Rugland has reportedly been training at former football placekicker Michael Husted’s pro kicking camp in Florida since last November.
