Jovan Belcher, the Chiefs linebacker who murdered is baby-mama in a hail of gunfire before killing himself, has a history of violence related to his love life.
According to a University of Maine campus police report dated April 1, 2006, obtained by USA Today and other outlets, Jovan suffered a “serious cut” to his arm when he punched out a window in 2006, “upset over a girl.”
The responding campus cop reported:
The injuries consisted of possible severed thumb and lacerations to the wrist. … There was a lot of blood. … I was told that Belcher was upset over a girl and punched out a window.
USA Today also reports another red flag from Belcher’s time at U Maine:
In another incident on Feb, 25, 2007, officers responded to a complaint of disorderly conduct and noise at Gannett Hall. The report said the complaint was called in by somebody who “became concerned about the raised voices” of Belcher and a girlfriend.
