WATCH: Robber Throws Woman onto Subway Track in Shocking Surveillance Footage

Shocking surveillance footage of a Philadelphia subway attack recently became public. The footage, captured inside the Chinatown SEPTA station, led to the arrest of 36-year-old William Clark.

William Clark is now facing charges of aggravated assault and robbery. He also has prior charges connected to burglary, theft and carjacking.

The attack occurred this past Tuesday afternoon, but the arrest of Clark happened two days later.

In the video, the assailant asks for a lighter then throws several quick punches before he chokes the victim, grabbs her leg, drags her across the platform, then shoves her off the edge — a 5-foot drop to the tracks.

With his victim out of the way, he grabs her cell phone and takes off.

The 23-year-old woman who was attacked spoke to CBSNews affiliate KYW-TV’s Todd Quinones”

I tried to fight him back, as much as I could, and he grabbed my leg. The incident, it replays, when, like, I lay down.

Thankfully, the woman only received minor injuries to her head and face. SEPTA Police Chief Thomas Nestell expressed his relief over the woman only suffering these injuries:

I am so happy that a train didn’t come on either side, because I don’t know what would have happened then.
