Multiple clips have been shared online of the altercation between UFC stars Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington.
Florida-based sports radio host Andy Slater originally reported on Monday night that a fight had taken place between the two mixed martial artists at Papi Steak in Miami Beach, Florida.
“SLATER SCOOP: UFC stars Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal got into a fight moments ago at Papi Steak restaurant in Miami Beach,” he tweeted. “Police have been called.”
Multiple outlets have confirmed with sources that an altercation did take place on March 21 at the restaurant. And TMZ has provided video that further shows something went down between Masivdal and “Chaos.”
The video, which you can watch below via the YouTube embed, shows “Gamebred” being held back by two individuals as he comes at Masvidal. Then, Masvidal walks off and goes into a car. Next, you’ll see a clip of Covington in the aftermath of the incident, standing around multiple police officers. Watch below:
Covington Is Overheard Saying He ‘Ran’ After Masvidal Started ‘Swinging’
In TMZ’s clip, Chaos is overheard describing the incident while surrounded by police. “He’s over here swinging, trying to come at me,” Covington said. “And I ran.”
“How would he know I’m here?” Covington continued.
After Slater’s report on Monday night, Masvidal shared a video of himself on Twitter, tagging Covington’s account and saying: “I call this show your face challenge. What’s up? I’m from Dade County. You talk that s***, you gotta back it up. That’s how my city rolls, man.”
Masvidal’s manager, Malki Kawa, also took to the social media platform to comment on the incident. “I’m hearing that a someone not from miami who says he’s the king of it is missing a tooth,” Kawa tweeted. “Can someone confirm this? I need the video asap.”
Covington Was With the Nelk Boys at Papi Steak on Monday Night
The Nelk Boy’s Instagram Story on Monday night placed Covington at Papi Steak around the same time the altercation was said to have happened. Another individual who was there was the host of the group’s “Full Send” podcast, Bob Menery. And Menery tweeted his displeasure with Masvidal that night.
“All i can say is I’m extremely disappointed in @GamebredFighter as a professional fighter tonight,” Menery tweeted. “You let down alot of people tonight bro. Disappointed.”
“Never had a problem with @GamebredFighter,” Menery continued. “Extremely disappointed in the way he decided to handle his ongoing ‘beef’ that has already been decided in a regulated platform.”
Menery also answered a Twitter user who accused him of setting Covington as the Nelk Boys shared several posts of Covington in the Miami area. Menery tweeted: “Hahhahaha! Yes I set colby Covington up! The jig is up! It was all me! Where do i issue my apology statement! Lol!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Covington has yet to post on social media since reports of the incident surfaced on Monday night. On the other end, Masvidal tweeted Tuesday morning: “Good morning to everyone except those that think talking about someone’s kids is cool.”
