Orson Charles, the 23-year-old full back for the Cincinnati Bengals was arrested last night in Madison County, Kentucky. Although details in the case were not released initially, TMZ is now reporting the arrest occurred after a case of road rage went violent.

Here is what you need to know:


1. He Allegedly Waved a Gun on the Highway

TMZ reported that while Charles was driving on the highway in Kentucky, he became enraged and, “brandished a firearm on the interstate during a road rage incident on I-75.”

As of now little is know about the weapon or the incident that sparked the brandishing of the firearm.


2. He’s Charged With Wanton Endangerment-First Degree

According to Cincinnati.com, Charles was charged with waton endangerment in the first degree, which is a class D felony in the state of Kentucky.

Class D crimes in Kentucky are punishable with between 1 and 5 years in prison.


3. He Was a Fourth Round Draft in 2012

After playing NCAA football at the University of Georgia, Orson Charles, then a tight end, was drafted in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL draft. He was chosen by the Bengals and was slated to begin his third season this year.

Many are speculating as to whether whether the incident will lead to him being dropped from the team.


4. He Was a Georgia Bulldog

5. He Was Arrested For Drunk Diving in 2011

Just months before the NFL draft, Charles was arrested in Athens, Georgia for drunk driving. After he was stopped at around 3 a.m. on a Friday morning, blood alcohol tests discovered he was driving with a .095 alcohol level. He was released on a $1,750 bail.
