In what has become an annual dual between two of the SEC East’s best teams, the South Carolina Gamecocks host the Georgia Bulldogs Saturday.
The Bulldogs already claimed a stake in the national championship picture when they destroyed Clemson in the opening week. But, before the Bulldogs can think about Dallas, they need to get by the Gamecocks, which have caused fits for them recently.
Here’s what you need to know about the game and how to watch it.

About the Game
In each of the last three seasons, South Carolina has defeated the eventual SEC East Champion, as the Gamecocks defeated Missouri last season, and Georgia the previous two years, before the Tigers and Bulldogs ended up advancing to Atlanta.
But after getting thrashed by Texas A&M in the opening week, the Gamecocks will need to come up with a way to stop Georgia running back and Heisman candidate Todd Gurley. Gurley and the Georgia offense have looked dangerous this season, especially in a Week 1 opening win over Clemson.
After losing to South Carolina in 2011 and 2012, the Bulldogs finally broke through by defeating South Carolina last season before suffering some key injuries and falling down the ranks in the East. But with a healthy squad, Georgia has its eyes set on Atlanta, while the Gamecocks are looking to avoid conference play 0-2.
Heavy’s Pick
Georgia 38, South Carolina 21
South Carolina began the season with high expectations, but those will come crashing down Saturday after an 0-2 start to conference play. Georgia’s ground game, led by Gurley, is arguably the best in the nation, and if Texas A&M can tear South Carolina’s defense apart, expect the Bulldogs to do the exact same.
