Now that Wonder Woman is finally in theaters, over 75 years after William Moutlon Marston’s character made her debut in DC Comics’ Sensation Comics, you might be wondering who plays who in the movie. The film earned rave reviews and is already piling up the box office dollars for Warner Bros., a studio desperate for a hit. The film is headlined by Gal Gadot and Chris Pine, but there are plenty of other great actors in film.
Wonder Woman was directed by Patty Jenkins (Monster), with a screenplay by Allan Heinberg (The O.C.) and a story by Jason Fuchs, Heinberg and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder. The film opened on June 2, with first screenings on June 1. It runs 141 minutes.
The film tells the origin story for Princess Diana, the daughter of the Queen of the Amazons, Hippolyta. During World War I, pilot Steve Trevor crash lands on Themyscira. Diana is convinced that she must help him end the war by defeating Ares, so she travels to the world of Man. There, Steve tries to stop a German general from using a deadly gas created by Dr. Maru while Diana goes after Ares. For a more detailed look at the plot, click here.
