A Florida woman accused of being a “road-rage driver” got “instant karma” when her car got away from her after she left the vehicle to confront another driver, according to The New York Post.
The viral video, which has also circulated on X, was first posted to Reddit, The Post reported. DailyMail.com referred to the woman as “July 4 Karen.”
The woman has not been publicly identified. It’s also not clear when or where the video was recorded. According to the New York Post, the woman’s car had Florida license plates, however, and she mentions that it was the Fourth of July in the video.
The video contains graphic language.
The Woman’s Car Started to Roll After She Yelled at a Fellow Motorist, the Video Shows
The viral video shows the woman, who was clad in a Miami Marlins baseball cap, getting out of her car to yell at another motorist.
“What are you tweaking about?” the man asks in the video. The woman, sitting in her car with the door open, yells that he was “spinning and [swerving]” while she’s driving an “82-year-old man” in the car.
She stumbles over some of her words and unleashes and expletive-filled rant.
The man then accuses her of being drunk, and the woman directs an expletive at him in return, the video shows. “You’re the one swerving, I was just following you,” the man counters.
At that point that the woman gets out of her vehicle, which starts to roll away down the street.

“I’m the one [expletive] swerving?!” the woman yells before running after her car. As she tries to get back in and stop it, the car hits another vehicle in front of it and the car door slams back onto the woman, the video shows. The man recording the video indicates he now has to go help the woman.
DailyMail.com reported that the woman “forgot to put on her handbrake” when she leapt out of the car to confront the unidentified motorist.
At the end of the video, all three drivers are shown driving away from the scene, indicating the woman was not seriously injured in the incident.
Although she was accused of being drunk, it’s not clear whether the woman had been drinking.
Some outlets used the term “Karen” to refer to the woman. The term often refers to a woman who complains unfairly about other people, sometimes to the manager.
“A Karen is a pushy, corny white woman who is insensitive to those around her, who doesn’t read the room, who puts herself first, yet complains in a whiny voice,” Michael Freeby, a celebrity photographer, told Parade.
Urban Dictionary defines a “Karen” as a “middle aged woman, typically blonde, makes solutions to others’ problems an inconvenience to her although she isn’t even remotely affected.” There are entire pages on X and other social media platforms devoted to exposing women who have been dubbed “Karens,” as the prevalence of cell phones makes it easy to capture people’s behavior in public.
