The Voice / YouTube "The Voice" finale begins tonight!

“The Voice” finale is officially underway! Tonight, the final five will perform two more solos before tomorrow night’s duets with their coaches. Keep reading to see what each of the finalists chooses to sing for their last solo performances in hopes of securing enough viewer votes to take the crown in tomorrow night’s results show, updated live as they air.

SPOILER ALERT: This post contains spoilers for “The Voice” season 22 episode, “Live Finale, Part 1” (December 12, 2022). Do not read ahead if you do not want this episode spoiled.

‘The Voice’ 2022 Finale (Part 1) Live Recap: All Performances

Carson Daly began “The Voice” finale by introducing the coaches John Legend, Gwen Stefani, Camila Cabello, and Blake Shelton. He explained the five finalists will each sing one ballad and one uptempo song, before diving into the first performance.

Team Blake: Bodie

Bodie confessed that in the Blind Auditions, he was planning on choosing Gwen, but that Blake won him over in the deliberations. To open tonight’s show, Bodie is performing Harry Styles’s “Late Night Talking” as his uptempo song. The coaches said that Bodie managed to surprise them again with his “producer brain”, and Blake said he looked like a natural on the stage.

All Coaches Performance

Next up, all four coaches joined forces to perform a Christmas classic: “The Christmas Song” (commonly referred to by its opening lyric, “Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire”).

Team Camila: Morgan Myles

Morgan Myles said that being the only female singer left in the finale is “a badge of honor”, and that she’ll have to “pull out all the stops” with her performance of “Total Eclipse of the Heart” by Bonnie Tyler. The coaches felt Morgan really sold the performance, and the song was a perfect choice for her voice. Camila said Morgan deserves the win, and really wants to see her win.

Team Blake: Brayden Lape

The youngest singer in the competition Brayden Lape shared a letter to his hometown of Grass Lake, Michigan, before singing his ballad performance of “Humble and Kind” by Tim McGraw. Gwen said she’s always been a fan of Brayden’s, and Blake agreed that he has so much talent and just needs to keep being himself.

Team Legend: Omar Jose Cardona

Team Legend’s only remaining singer shared a letter to his family, thanking them for showing him what unconditional love is and introducing music to him. He dedicated his performance of Michael Jackson’s “The Way You Make Me Feel”, complete with full choreography, to his family. Camila joked that she would like to see Blake do the dance moves, and coach John joked that he would believe if Omar were lip-syncing with how clear his vocals were despite the full-out dance moves Omar was doing.

Team Blake: Bryce Leatherwood

Bryce Leatherwood shared a thank you letter to the state of Georgia, which made him who he is. Bryce shares that he loves being in Los Angeles to film “The Voice” but that he is homesick. He dedicates his performance of “Don’t Close Your Eyes” by Keith Whitley (a Kentucky native) to his home state. Gwen said Bryce “just won a career” with his performance, regardless of how he does in this competition, and Blake said he just ignited a fire in country music fans of the show.

Team Blake: Brayden Lape

Brayden Lape kicked off the second round of performances with his rendition of “Voice” season 8 alum Corey Kent’s “Wild As Her”. Brayden said he “just wanted to make that one fun” and the coaches agreed that he definitely did that. Blake agreed, saying he was glad Brayden had to do a fun uptempo song since he has leaned more toward ballads and slower songs in this competition.

Team Camila: Morgan Myles

Morgan Myles reads a thank you note she wrote to her parents for helping her through some of her hardest times in life and introducing music into her life, before taking to the stage to perform “Girl Crush” by Little Big Town, after which Camila started a chant in the studio: “Morgan! Morgan! Morgan!” Gwen said that the country song was a perfect fit for Morgan’s voice, and John agreed, calling Morgan “the best country singer I’ve seen since I’ve been on ‘The Voice'”. Camila agreed, saying Morgan was “her [own, unique] type of country”.

Team Blake: Bryce Leatherwood

Bryce Leatherwood is proud to represent country music fans on “The Voice” and is doing so with his second performance of the night: “T.R.O.U.B.L.E.” by Travis Tritt. The coaches all agreed that Bryce’s performance was exciting, and showed a side of Bryce that they hadn’t gotten to fully see yet. Blake said the singer “raised the roof” with his uptempo performance.

Team Blake: Bodie

Bodie wrote a thank you letter to his children, letting them know that they are his everything and that he is very proud to be their father. He’s dedicated his performance of “Gratitude” by Brandon Lake to his children. The crowd chanted his name after the performance. Gwen was moved to tears by Bodie’s performance, and coach Blake said he was speechless at Bodie’s “moving” performance.

Team Legend: Omar Jose Cardona

Omar Jose Cardona is thankful to be in the finale after winning last week’s Instant Save, and this week he closed out the night with a performance of Queen’s “Somebody to Love” with a full choir accompanying him. Camila called the performance inspiring and said Omar deserves to be in the finals. John said Omar has shown America everything they should need to see to take the win this season.

The final two-hour results show of “The Voice” season 22 airs live tomorrow night (Tuesday, December 12) at 8 pm Eastern on NBC, where the singers will perform duets with their coaches and the winner will be revealed.

Who Is In the Final 5?

After last week’s shocking semi-final elimination, “The Voice” whittled the field down to the final 5. Unfortunately, Team Gwen lost its final member in Justin Aaron, so coach Gwen Stefani will not be winning season 22 of “The Voice”. Team Legend and Team Camila each have one finalist on their team, while Team Blake has three singers left in the game.

See the team roster below:

Team Legend:

  • Omar Jose Cardona

Team Gwen: Knocked out in semi-finals

Team Camila:

  • Morgan Myles

Team Blake:
