New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, a Republican superstar and big-time backer of presidential challenger Mitt Romney, has been heaping unabashed praise on Barack Obama over the POTUS’ handling of Hurricane Sandy.
Sandy’s storm surge and raging waves rocked the Jersey Shore, walloping Atlantic City and destroying the iconic boardwalk. Christie says the president has delivered full federal support for the guv’s disaster-stricken state.
Wearing the zip-up fleece jacket that has become his storm-disaster uniform, Christie told Good Morning America today:
I have to say, the administration, the president, himself and FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate have been outstanding with us so far. We have a great partnership with them.
Separately, he told Fox:
I have a job in New Jersey that is much bigger than presidential politics. I couldn’t care less about that.
And he told MSNBC this morning (video above):
The president has been all over this and he deserves great credit.
