Two off-duty Florida cops shot and killed a naked, armed woman who confronted them at a party Saturday, with the local sheriff saying that the woman obviously wasn’t in her right mind.
Hernando County Sheriff Al Neinhuis, in a press release issued after the shooting, said the men were approached by an “armed, naked and irrational female,” which is not a situation any guy wants to be in when there’s a naked woman involved.
She died at the party, said Neinhuis.
She was just acting irrational. It was obvious being naked she was not in her right mind.
Someone at the party called 911 to report her, but she left and came back to the party before police got there. Meanwhile, Hernando County Sheriff’s Detective Rocky Allen Howard and Tampa police officer William Mechler, who were at the party, were confronted reports MyFoxTampaBay.
She came back with a weapon and confronted both the Tampa police officer and my sheriff’s office detective. She came with a weapon and I would surmise that they felt their life was in danger.
Mechler and Howard are both on administrative leave while the Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigates the shooting.
The Hernando sheriff’s office didn’t report the dead woman’s name or what kind of weapon she was brandishing.
