Remember the “Cannibal Cop” busted for allegedly conspiring to kidnap, cook and eat a bunch of women whose info he obtained through his official capacity as a New York police officer?
Well now the FBI has arrested an alleged client/conspirator of Gilberto Valle, saying Michael Vanhise wanted to pay the New York police officer $5,000 for delivery of a kidnapped victim whom he could rape and murder.
Vanhise, a 23-year-old from Trenton, New Jersey, was arrested today at his home.
Vanhise allegedly instant-messaged Valle and haggled over the price of delivery for a drugged victim, who supposedly would be brought to Vanhise — bound, gagged and stuffed in a suitcase — from New York City. According to documents, the chat went down like this (Vanhise is identified as “CC-2”):
In addition, according to the FBI, Vanhise had sick plans to kidnap a child:
Vanhise also e-mailed photographs of a female minor, whom Vanhise knew well, to other co-conspirators (“CC-2” and “CC-3”). CC-2 and CC-3 both expressed interest in kidnapping the child, and Vanhise provided them with the purported address of the girl, which was in close proximity to the girl’s actual home address.
Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara made this statement:
As alleged in the complaint, Michael Vanhise engaged in conduct that reads like a script for a bad horror film, but fortunately, neither he nor his co-conspirators were able to act out the twisted conspiracies described in the complaint in real-life. His arrest today is the second in this bone-chilling case, but we are not finished.
Vanhise is charged with conspiracy to commit kidnapping, punishable by life in prison. He was scheduled to appear in court today in Manhattan.
Valle, 28, who was arrested in October, faces trial on February 4. He’s charged with kidnapping conspiracy and another charge related to his alleged unauthorized use of police computers to research and compile information on his list of supposed victims.
