Another woman has emerged, filing a sexual harassment suit against San Diego Mayor Bob Filner. This time, his accuser is 67-year-old Peggy Shannon.
Shannon, backed by celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred, alleges that while she was working at the Senior Citizens Service Desk in the lobby of San Diego City Hall, Filner would routinely stop at her desk and make sexual advances, according to NBC San Diego. One time he asked whether she thought “[he] can go 8 hours straight.”
“Every day I went to work I had butterflies in my stomach because I did not know what was going to happen the next time the mayor came by my desk,” said Shannon.
Shannon submitted her sexual harassment claim on July 18, but has yet to hear back or receive an apology from the mayor’s office. Shannon is currently waiting the city to complete an investigation, according to Politico.
This makes 15 accusers against the embattled mayor, with more expected to come forward.
