(Twitter)

Jennifer Alfonso is the deceased victim of her husband, Derek Medina, who shocked the online world yesterday when he shot his wife dead and posted a picture of her dead body on Facebook.

Here’s what we know so far about Alfonso and her tragic situation.

1. Alfonso Was Featured in One of Medina’s Books

(Twitter)

Derek Medina wrote e-books online and had one about his relationship with Alfonso, using pseudonyms. His “characters” were named James and Cristine. The title of the book is tragically ironic in light of yesterday’s events: How I Saved Someone’s Life and Marriage and Family Problems Thru Communication. It was dedicated to four people, including the deceased Alfonso. According to the Miami Herald:

The characters in the book seem to portray real elements of the life shared by Medina and Alfonso.

The news source then adds:

Medina writes about James’ relationship with his wife Cristine. He says in the book that James and Cristine were married, then divorced, but are now married again and how hard the between time was for James. In real life, Medina and Alfonso married in April 2012, got divorced and then were re-married, according to county records.

In the e-book, Medina wrote that the couple had trouble fully expressing their true feelings in arguments and that it had been a tough year. He said they were in “two different worlds” and just couldn’t understand each other.

On a bizarre note, Medina featured his wife once again claiming he could hunt ghosts and that he actually saved Alfonso from a poltergeist in New York.

2. Jennifer Alfonso Was Leaving Medina

(Twitter)

Alfonso had actually divorced the killer in the past. They were married in January 2010, divorced in February 2012, and remarried in April 2012.

The decision to let Medina back into her life proved to be fatal. According to the arrest affidavit, Alfonso told Medina she was leaving him during the argument that let to her death.

4. Kayla Amanda Pabon, Alfonso’s Friend, Has Been Reaching Out Online

(Facebook)

After Medina posted the graphic photo of his slain wife, a friend of the victim, Kayla Amanda Pabon, left a comment saying “That’s my friend.”

In an effort to shield Alfonso’s daughter from anymore pain, Pabon has made a public plea to stop reposting the photo of her friend’s dead body. She asks that the public shows respect for Alfonso and her family.

5. Alfonso’s Daughter Was Home During the Murder

(Facebook/NY Post)

Jennifer Alfonso’s 10-year-old daughter was home during the killing of her mother. Medina is not the biological father of the girl. In fact, he even writes a little about the girl in his e-book saying how much the “character” enjoys spending time with his stepdaughter, similar to the relationship he had with his own stepfather growing up.
