Aaron Swartz, internet guru, free internet advocate, and co-founder of Reddit, died one year ago on January 11, 2013 at the young age of 26. Swartz was in the process of being sentenced to 35 years in prison and one million dollars in fines for accessing the MIT network and uploading academic journals for free to the web. Many believe he took his own life because of the severity of his sentencing. Since last year, an increased amount of attention has been paid to the severity of internet law penalties.
