WATCH: Florida Waterspout Sends Children’s Bounce House Into the Air

A waterspout made landfall in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, sending a bounce house filled with kids flying 15 feet into the air.

The bounce house was sent across a parking lot and into the roadway, police said.

WSVN said it happened at about 12:30 p.m. on Memorial Day on Fort Lauderdale Beach. Three children were taken to the hospital, one with serious injuries, the news station reported. The children were ejected from the bounce house after it flew into the air.

“When the waterspout happened it blew across the sand and the bounce house ended up flippin’,” Twitter user Thuggajunkie_ told the New York Daily News. “It was up in the air spinning and that’s when I saw 2 kids falling out and I’m not sure where was the other 2 kids.”

The waterspout was an EF-0 tornado, according to the National Weather Service. The city of Fort Lauderdale told WSVN that the bounce house was part of a city-sponsored event.
