A former “Mrs. Orange County” is accused of producing and distributing child pornography involving a relative.
Meghan Breanna Alt, 25, of Irvine, California, was arrested in San Diego by a police task force Wednesday afternoon, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said.
Alt, a Mormon who is married with three children, was charged with production and distribution of child pornography and lewd and lascivious conduct with a child. She was held on $100,000 bail at Orange County Jail and is due in court on Friday, October 9.

1. Alt Is Accused of Showing the Photos to a Marine in Exchange for Cash & Gifts
Meghan Breanna Alt was arrested after a traffic stop in San Diego County, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said.
Alt confessed to the production and distribution of the child pornography, police said. Investigators said it involved a 4-year-old family member.
Police said the investigation began after the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) learned about the child pornography photos. Alt is accused of giving the sexually explicit images electronically to a Marine stationed in Southern California in exchange for cash and gifts.
Homeland Security Investigations, part of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, is also part of the investigation and federal charges are possible, in addition to the state charges.
The name of the Marine accused of receiving the child pornography has not yet been released because charges have not yet been filed against him.
2. She Recently Gave Birth to Her Third Child With Her Husband
Alt is married, but police told KTLA-TV that her husband, Adam Alt, was not aware of her activities.
According to her Facebook page, Alt has three children, two girls and a boy, who was born last month.
3. She Volunteered at a Mormon-Run Childcare Facility
Police said Alt is involved in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in San Clemente, California, and volunteered at a childcare facility there. They said she assisted with and monitored young children there.

Alt often posted about the Mormon church on her Facebook page, as well as posting information for Mormons recovering from drug addiction.
4. Police Say They Believe She Was Advertising ‘Adult Services’ Online
According to the police press release, investigators believe that Meghan Alt advertised adult services online, which “many times resulted in an exchange of sex for money.”
Police said the exchanges “often” occurred “with her children present. Lt. Jeff Hallock told the Orange County Register that she advertised on Craigslist.
5. She Was Crowned Mrs. Orange County in 2014
Alt was crowned Mrs. Orange County in 2014 and went on to participate in the Mrs. California 2014 Pageant in June 2014, police said.
According to her Facebook page, she works for Young Living Essential Oils, a health company based in Utah. Her business car says she is an “independent distributor, personal trainer, raindrop technique specialist.”
