The above ad is running on CNN just before the Democratic primary debates begin. Vice President Joe Biden will not be attending the debates, as he hasn’t yet announced a run for the presidency. However, the Draft Biden super PAC has been working to convince him to run, and the latest step is this ad slated to air just before the debates.
The ad is titled “Never Quit,” and it features audio pulled from Biden’s speech at the 2012 Democratic National Convention, the New York Times reported. In the ad, Biden speaks about the resilience of America and how important it is psychologically for people to hold a job. He speaks about his own grandfather, who worked tirelessly to provide for his family, even through the worst of times.
The ad replaces a more emotional ad where Biden spoke about the deaths of his first wife and daughter. Biden did not want that ad to run, so Draft Biden pulled it. You can watch the ad here.
