Winter Storm Jonas, the first blizzard of 2016, slammed into Virginia on Friday and Saturday, bringing heavy amounts of snow, wind and ice.
Some towns, including Philomont, Winchester, Ashburn, Bluemont and Stephens City received more than 30 inches of snow, with Philomont leading the state with 39 inches as of Saturday evening.
Police reported more than 800 crashes in Virginia by Friday night, including one with a fatality, according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch.
The storm is making its way up the East Coast, with several states expected to see high snowfall totals by Saturday evening.
