Illinois has been at the center of the GOP conversation in recent days. Donald Trump canceled a scheduled Chicago rally after things turned violent between Trump supporters and protesters.
Trump is leading Illinois in early polling. With most of the polls conducted prior to the event, it is unclear whether it will have a positive or negative impact on his chances of winning the state.
In the most recent poll conducted by CBS News/YouGov, Trump leads Ted Cruz by just four percentage points. He had a much larger lead in earlier polls.
