New York GOP Polls 2016: Donald Trump Maintains Lead

The latest New York Republican polls show Donald Trump is maintaining his lead over the field. RealClear Politics has Trump with an average lead of 38.3 percentage points over Ted Cruz and John Kasich.

New York is Trump’s home state and a great showing could allow Trump to win the majority of delegates. The delegates are divided proportionally, but there are certain triggers that allow a candidate to take more delegates once they reach more than 50% of the votes.

The New York GOP primary takes place on April 19. There are 95 delegates at stake.

RealClear Politics keeps a running average of the New York polls. The average includes data from four polls. The Quinnipiac poll conducted March 22-29, the Optimus poll conducted March 22-24, the Emerson poll conducted March 14-16 and the Siena poll conducted February 28-March 3.

Quinnipiac

The Quinnipiac poll was conducted March 22-29. It has a margin of error of 4.6 percentage points.

Optimus

The Optimus poll was conducted March 22-24. It has a margin of error of 1 percentage point.

Emerson

The Emerson poll was conducted March 14-16. It has a margin of error of 5.6 percentage points.

Siena

The Siena poll was conducted February 28-March 3. It has a margin of error of 6.7 percentage points.
