It was a great night for Ted Cruz as he won two states including a surprise win in Maine. Cruz ended up with more delegates than Donald Trump for the day, but Trump still has the most delegates among GOP candidates despite his disappointing night. Marco Rubio’s chances to win the nomination continue to look bleak after another poor showing.
The Republican party moves on to the Puerto Rico primary on Sunday. After Puerto Rico, the GOP candidates will turn their attention to the March 8 events. Idaho, Michigan and Mississippi all have primaries. The Hawaii caucus will also be held March 8.
