In an appearance on Good Morning America on Thursday, Oprah Winfrey said she is supporting Hillary Clinton for president in the 2016 election.
“I’m with her,” Winfrey said. “I have to say, I’m with her. I would also say that regardless of your politics, you cannot be a woman in the world and not see that this is a monumental time for women breaking the ceiling.”
Winfrey previously endorsed Barack Obama for president in 2008. It has been speculated that this endorsement may have played a major part in Obama defeating Clinton for the democratic nomination.
“I’m euphoric, I’ve been doing the happy dance all day,” Winfrey said after Obama secured the nomination, according to People. “I’m so proud of Barack and Michelle Obama and what this means for all of us…the new possibilities for our country. And if he wants me to, I’m ready to go door to door.”
Winfrey made several appearances with Obama on the campaign trailer throughout 2008.
