Background:
Andra Day performed in both “She’s With Us” concerts to raise funds for Clinton’s campaign in New York and California. The rising R&B star told Billboard that she became interested in backing Clinton after she heard her deliver a speech at a Global Fund for Women event a few years ago. “When this performance came up, it was kind of like a no-brainer for me to jump onboard and be a part of it,” said Day. In an interview with AJC.com, Day said she believes artists should use their public platform during this election season. “I’m not in politics for a reason, but there are things I believe in, and if you do believe things you should stand up for what you believe in, not just politically, but socially,” said Day.
