Officer Brent Thompson Posted ‘Police Lives Matter’ Meme on Facebook

This is the meme that slain Dallas Police Officer Brent Thompson posted to his Facebook page in 2015:

Thompson was the first of the five fallen officers in the Dallas shooting to be named. He was an officer with the Dallas Area Rapid Transit police, and he became that agency’s first officer to die in the line of duty since it was formed in 1989. Other DART officers were also shot, but they are expected to survive; the other four slain officers are with the Dallas Police Department. He died in a coordinated sniper attack on officers at a Black Lives Matter protest.

Thompson was a father and a grandfather. He also helped train Afghan and Iraqi police officers in “Democratic policing,” as he put it on LinkedIn. Read more details of his life here.
