Vice President Joe Biden, who got warmed up for an attack on Donald Trump in the morning, spoke at the Democratic National Convention on Wednesday night before President Barack Obama took the podium at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
Biden Said Trump Doesn’t ‘Have A Clue Period’
Biden’s speech followed an introduction from his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, seen below, and a video that highlighted the former Delaware senator’s career. Biden highlighted his relationship with President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. He also paid tribute to his late son, Beau Biden.
Biden said it is Clinton’s “life story” to help those in need. When he segued to talking about Donald Trump, he asked the audience to stop booing and cheering. “How can there be pleasure in saying, ‘You’re fired?'” he said, calling Trump’s claims that he cares about the working class “a bunch of malarkey.”
“He has no clue about what makes America great. Actually, he doesn’t have a clue period,” Biden said. Then the crowd started cheering “Not a clue.”
“The 21st century is going to be the American century,” Biden told the crowd. As he got the crowd fired up at the end, Biden said, “God willing, Hillary Clinton will get to write that next chapter. We are America. Second to none and we own the finish line. Don’t forget it.”
This was the first time Biden got to speak on Clinton’s behalf since their first campaign appearance was postponed due to the police shooting in Dallas. It has been rescheduled for August 15 in Biden’s hometown Scranton, Pennsylvania.

Biden Also Told ‘Morning Joe’ That Trump ‘Knows Nothing About Foreign Policy’
Biden was on MSNBC’s Morning Joe Wednesday morning, blasting Trump’s foreign policy and the lack of compromise with Republicans.
“The truth is, Donald Trump knows nothing about foreign policy, nor should he based upon his background,” Biden told Morning Joe. “But the thing that bothers me Willie [Geist], is I don’t see any attempt from him to go out and get people who really know on the Republican side.”
Biden also criticized Trump’s comments on NATO, suggesting in an interview with the New York Times that he would only defend countries if they have fulfilled their obligations. “Have they fulfilled their obligations to us? If they fulfill their obligations to us, the answer is yes,” Trump said when asked about defending the Baltic states. Biden said these comments are “playing directly into the hands of” Russian President Vladimir Putin.
