A man drove his SUV off the roof of a parking garage in downtown Austin, Texas, but it was miraculously caught on wires, allowing him to escape as it dangled for hours.
The 24-year-old man drove his vehicle off “the top floor of a nine-story parking garage in downtown Austin” on September 9, said Fox News.
Austin 7 posted dramatic video of the man being rescued:
According to Austin 7, “The driver of a 2004 Toyota 4Runner went off the top floor of a parking garage in downtown Austin. The SUV was caught and held by barrier cables, and dangled off the side of the building. Two people were able to pull that driver to safety.”
The parking garage is connected to a Gold’s Gym, according to Fox 7. The car dangled from the parking garage for several hours, said The Austin American-Statesman.
“The fact that the gentleman lived after driving off the ninth floor is a miracle,” Austin Fire Division Chief Palmer Buck told the American-Statesman.
The Austin Fire Department also posted photos and a video of the rescue on Facebook.
