A Charlotte, North Carolina protester slipped off a curb and was struck by a police SUV, according to WBTV reporter Nick Ochsner.
Ochsner wrote in a tweet on September 25, “This man being arrested slipped off curb & was hit by CMPD ATV. Crowd angry.”

Police had not released the man’s identity or condition. It’s not the first time that the Charlotte protests resulted in injury. At least 20 police officers were injured during a week of rioting, and protester Justin Carr was murdered in the crowd, allegedly by another demonstrator.
On Twitter, people expressed anger.
Oschsner also tweeted that the crowd was growing increasingly angry early in the evening, with police in riot gear showing up and protesters donning masks.
The protests on Sunday capped off a week of unrest in the protests (which at times turned into riots) over the police shooting of an African-American man named Keith Lamont Scott. Tensions grew as police and Scott’s wife both released video of the shooting and its aftermath.
Scott’s daughter had also streamed the shooting aftermath on Facebook Live the day after it occurred.

Earlier, police arrested a man with a gun as protests ignited outside the Bank of America stadium during the Charlotte Panthers and Minnesota Vikings game. There was a heavy police presence at the stadium, and protesters were captured arguing with football fans on video. The police also posted photos on Twitter of football fans thanking them.
