The accusation of Obama wiretapping Trump Tower was just one of many claims Levin made on his radio show on March 2. The story was picked up by conservative news agency Breitbart on March 3. The allegation is based on an October 2016 Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) request from the Obama administration. According to the The National Review, the request focused on a Trump Tower computer server that was believed to have links to Russian banks. However, in an interview on MSNBC this morning, George Beebe, former CIA director of Russia analysis and adviser to Vice President Dick Cheney, said that there are a lot of reasons for a FISA request and this is only conjecture.
