WATCH: Washington D.C. Homicide Suspect Shoots & Kills With Weapon

A male homicide suspect in Washington D.C. was caught on surveillance cameras frantically running throughout a neighborhood and firing a weapon.

The Metropolitan Police Departments Homicide Branch released the surreal surveillance video on March 31, asking for assistance in identifying the suspect in the shooting, which left one dead and one hospitalized.

Police label the male suspect as a “person of interest” in a homicide that took place in the 2100 block of Alabama Avenue, Southeast on March 28 at around 3:45 p.m.

The shocking video shows the suspect running through a street after someone, pulling up his pants along the way. A video from a nearby gas station shows the suspect running through its parking lot and opening fire at what appears to be a car before fleeing from the scene and back through the road.

According to a news release from the Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to the scene for a report of a shooting. As they were responding, they discovered a car accident where the driver and passenger of one of the involved vehicles were suffering from gunhot wounds.

Emergency personnel transported both of the male victims to a hospital, but one of them — identified as 31-year-old Antwan Jones of Arlington, Virginia — succumbed to his injuries later on and was pronounced dead. The other victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Police are asking for people to identify the suspect and are offering a reward of up to $25,000 for providing information that leads to an arrest and conviction.

Those that have a tip on the case are asked to call police at (202) 727-9099 or text the tip line at 50411.
