At least two people were shot in a possible “active shooter” situation at an office building tower in Dallas, KXAS-TV reports.
The shooter was reported to be down.
Dallas Police and Fire-Rescue responded to the building in the 8300 block of U.S. 75 near Forest Lane about 10:45 a.m., Fire-Rescue spokesman Jason Evans told the news station.
This is a developing story and will be updated. Here is what we know so far:
1. At Least Two Victims Were Found on the 10th Floor of the Building
At least two victims were found in the building, on the 10th floor, CBS 11 reporter J.D. Miles said on Twitter.
It was not clear if the shooter was included in the two victims on the 10th floor. According to police radio transmissions and witnesses, the gunman was possibly down on the seventh floor of the building. Police have also not yet said if the gunman shot himself or was shot by police.
Two ambulances were called and the conditions of the victims were not immediately known.

Details about the shooter, including his name, and a possible motive have not yet been released.

3. Police Searched Every Floor of the Office Tower & Did Not Find Any Other Threats or Victims
Officer searched every floor of the high rise and did not find any other threats or victims, according to police scanner reports. Dallas SWAT responded to the scene and was assisting in the search.
Some people locked themselves inside offices and other areas to hide after the reports of an active shooter.
Those inside the building were brought outside and were being taken to a nearby office building that was being used as a staging area.
4. Investigators Are Beginning to Interview Witnesses to Determine What Led to the Shooting
Police said there were about 50 witnesses to the shooting that were being interviewed, according to scanner reports. One witness was being taken to the hospital after falling down the stairs while leaving the building, according to police.
A woman who works in the building told Fox 4 she heard the shots.
“I hung up on a customer, I was on the phone with a customer, we heard shots and at the same time the shots happened, my boss directed everybody to get in a corner and get down low,” she told the news station. “People started screaming, SWAT came in with guns pointed and everybody had come out of our office with our hands up and come down 10 flights of stairs.”
5. The Area Near the Building Has Been Shut Down
A large police presence was seen in the area near the office building, and several roads had been shut down.
The high-rise building is located near the High Five Interchange in North Dallas, according to the Dallas Morning News.
It is a 12-story building.
