Anthony Scaramucci is out as the White House Communications Director. Scaramucci held the position for 11 days and offered his resignation from the position to new White House Chief of Staff John Kelly, who was sworn in earlier today.
A statement by White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders reads: “Anthony Scaramucci will be leaving his role as White House Communications Director. Mr. Scaramucci felt it was best to give Chief of Staff John Kelly a clean slate and the ability to build his own team. We wish him all the best.”
Scaramucci has requested to be moved to the Export-Import Bank. It’s unclear if the Trump administration will honor his request.
According to CBS, Scaramucci was escorted from the White House by security.
