Isabel Martinez, the Georgia mother accused of stabbing her four children and their father to death, made a bizarre appearance in court on July 7, hamming it up for the cameras.
Martinez, who is accused of murdering five people the day before, smiled, gave a thumb’s up, bowed for the cameras, and otherwise didn’t seem very distressed to be there.
Here’s a still photo of Martinez smiling and giving a thumb’s up for the journalists in the courtroom.

At one point, Martinez, 33, who is being held on an immigration hold, held her arms wide and bowed for the cameras.
The victims were identified by authorities as Axel Romero, 2; Dillan Romero, 4; Dacota Romero, 7, Isabela Martinez, 10, and their father, Martin Romero, 33.
Diana Romero, 9, was wounded but survived the carnage.
CBS46 reported that the judge ordered Martinez to stop playing to the cameras during the odd court appearance.
According to 11Alive News, Martinez also refused to allow the judge to appoint her a defense attorney.
The judge denied bond for Martinez, who is accused of multiple counts of malice murder.
In the horrific sequence of events, police say that Martinez, who is originally from Mexico, dialed 911 to alert them to the carnage at the scene. The murders occurred in a mobile home in Gwinnett County, Georgia.
Neighbors told local television stations that Martinez had seemed like a good mother until recently, when she became depressed after her father died. They also said that Martinez and her family were relatively new to the area and described the children riding bicycles throughout the neighborhood. Police called the scene “horrendous.”
