One day after White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci was fired, Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders will address the media once again.
Sanders is scheduled to speak in front of the media at 2 p.m. EDT on Tuesday. To watch a live stream of the press briefing, hit play on the video at the top of the page.
On Monday, Sanders spoke to reporters just hours after Scaramucci was removed from the White House. She said that Scarmucci left to give new Chief of Staff, General John Kelly, a “clean slate.” She also spoke on President Donald Trump‘s views on Scarmucci, saying he thought the former communications director’s comments in an interview with The New Yorker were “inappropriate.”
Also at Monday’s press briefing, Sanders said that everyone in the administration will report directly to Kelly, who had informed aides that he was going to establish a “military-style” discipline in the White House. Kelly was sworn into the position on Monday, just two days after Reince Priebus was fired from his position.
At Tuesday’s press briefing, Sanders is expected to talk about a report from The Washington Post that claims Trump was the one who provided a misleading statement that his son, Donald J. Trump Jr., sent out following reports of a meeting with a lawyer connected to Russia.
In addition to that topic, expect Sanders to be asked about a lawsuit filed in federal court Tuesday that alleges Trump and White House officials played a direct role in publishing a “fake” Fox News report about the death of Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich.
“The Fox News Channel and a wealthy supporter of President Trump working in concert under the watchful eye of the White House to concoct a story about (Rich’s) death,” the lawsuit claims.
The story was retracted by Fox News a week after it was published.
