Will Hurricane Florence Hit Savannah, Georgia? [Sept. 13]

NWS Will Hurricane Florence hit Savannah, GA?

With Hurricane Florence now headed more squarely toward North Carolina in recent days, folks in Georgia are hoping they will be spared the worst of the storm’s wrath. That doesn’t mean that they won’t feel the effects of it though, as the monster storm heads toward the coast. In fact, the National Weather Service reported on September 12, 2018 that the threat to Georgia was increasing. However, the threat to Savannah appears to be dissipating somewhat.

Will Hurricane Florence hit Savannah, Georgia? If so, when? Right now, despite the hurricane’s shifting, the National Weather Service is only projecting shows for Savannah. Here’s the extended forecast, as of the evening of September 13, 2018.

Savannah Georgia weather forecast

That’s a change from the day before, September 12, when the NWS was projecting tropical storm conditions for Savannah, Georgia (from Friday night through Sunday), not hurricane conditions. The hurricane remains volatile, however, and that could always change.
