Good to go against Buffalo
Jackson (foot) is active for Sunday's game against the Bills, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports. Jackson ended the week with consecutive limited practices, and he'll start at left tackle Sunday.
Likely playing in Week 14
Head coach Sean McVay told reporters Friday that Jackson (foot) is listed as questionable but is expected to play in Sunday's matchup against the Bills, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports. Jackson appears to be trending toward playing in Week 14, as he upgraded from no participation in Wednesday's practice to a limited session Thursday. If the 26-year-old offensive lineman is able to play through his foot issue Sunday, he's expected to serve as the Rams' top left tackle, protecting Matthew Stafford's blindside.
Starting in Week 13
Jackson (foot) is active for Sunday's matchup with the Saints, Cameron DaSilva of USA Today reports. Jackson will give it a go after suffering a foot injury at some point in the last week. He will operate in his starting role at left tackle against New Orleans.
Iffy for Week 13
Jackson (foot) is questionable for Sunday's game against New Orleans, Luke Johnson of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. Jackson has drawn the questionable tag for Sunday's game despite not practicing all week due to a foot injury. Warren McClendon would be the top candidate to start at left tackle if Jackson is unable to play.
Back from suspension
The NFL reinstated Jackson form his two-game suspension Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Jackson was suspended for two games in late August for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy, but he's now been reinstated after serving the full suspension. The Rams' offensive line is dealing with a plethora of injuries after just two weeks, so Jackson's return to left tackle will likely be a significant boost as the season progresses.
Suspended two games
Jackson has been suspended two games for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy, Tyler Dragon of USA Today and Cameron DaSilva of USA Today report. Jackson, who has been sidelined with an ankle injury of late, was projected to be the Rams' starting left tackle this season. He's now slated to miss the team's first two regular-season games and will be eligible to return to action in Week 3 against the 49ers. In his looming absence, Joe Noteboom is a candidate to fill in for Jackson.
Week-to-week with ankle injury
Head coach Sean McVay told reporters after Saturday's practice session that Jackson is considered week-to-week after rolling his ankle in practice last Thursday, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports. Jackson was initially labelled as day-to-day after rolling his ankle, but McVay relayed that he doesn't want to rush the 26-year-old lineman back to practice. Jackson, who is slated to serve as the Rams' starting left tackle, will likely sit for Sunday's preseason opener against the Cowboys, but he could also be kept out of the following game against the Chargers on Aug. 17. In Jackson's absence, AJ Arcuri and Joe Noteboom will have an opportunity for more reps at left tackle with the first-team offense.
Tweaks ankle
Jackson tweaked his ankle at Monday's practice. There is no word on the severity of Jackson's ankle injury at this time. Expect the Rams to err on the side of caution with him this early in camp in order to ensure his health for the start of the season. When healthy, he is projected to protect Matthew Stafford's blindside at left tackle.
Signs new deal
Jackson signed his free agent tender from the Rams on Monday. Jackson had the second-round tender placed on him March 12 after he started 15 games for the Rams at left tackle in 2023. The 25-year-old allowed only 1.0 sacks last season and should remain the player protecting Matthew Stafford's blindside again in 2024.
