Nick Hampton: Breaking News

The Panthers signed Hampton on Friday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. A fifth-round pick in 2023 by the Rams, Hampton appeared in 36 regular-season games across three seasons with Los Angeles. He recorded 17 tackles (eight solo) and a pair of pass breakups, working mainly on special teams.

Hampton (illness) does not carry an injury designation in Sunday's matchup with Indianapolis, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports. Hampton will be back in action in Week 4 after missing the team's 33-26 loss to the Eagles in Week 3 due to an illness. The 25-year-old will return to his spot as a top reserve option at outside linebacker behind Byron Young and Jared Verse against the Colts.

Hampton (illness) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Eagles. Hampton was added to the injury report Saturday and was ruled out shortly thereafter. He's primarily contributed on special teams through two games while tallying one tackle.
