Booth finished Sunday's 41-7 loss to Philadelphia with six tackles (three solo) and one pass defense. Booth got the start at outside corner Sunday due to the absence of Amani Oruwariye (foot). Booth finished with a season-high in tackles, but he struggled in coverage against DeVonta Smith, with the Eagles' wideout finishing with six catches (on seven targets) for 120 yards and two touchdowns. Booth and the Cowboys' defense will look to bounce back in the regular-season finale against the Commanders next Sunday.
The Cowboys waived Booth on Tuesday, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports. Booth has appeared in just three games through nine weeks this season, and now he'll have to part ways with Dallas. He's recorded six tackles (five solo) in 35 defensive snaps in 2024.
The Cowboys acquired Booth via trade from Minnesota in exchange for Nahshon Wright on Friday, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports. Booth will make his way to Dallas after serving in a supplementary cornerback role with the Vikings in the 2023 season. The 6-foot defensive back is likely to compete against rookie Eric Scott for a backup spot behind Trevon Diggs on the Cowboys' depth chart.
