Goodwin (hamstring) has been ruled out for the rest of Monday night's contest against the Bengals, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. Goodwin suffered the hamstring injury in the second half and he'll now be unavailable for the stretch run. In his absence, Amani Oruwariye is a candidate to see an increase in workload at cornerback.
Goodwin (pectoral) has participated in the Cowboys' mandatory minicamp, K.D. Drummond of USA Today reports. Goodwin had his 2023 campaign cut short due to a torn pectoral sustained last October, but the Cowboys still re-signed him on a one-year deal. The 34-year-old cornerback figures to spend the offseason battling for a role that would see him contribute almost exclusively on special teams.
The Cowboys re-signed Goodwin (pectoral) on a one-year deal Thursday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Goodwin sustained a torn pectoral in early October that forced him to miss all but five of the Cowboys' games in 2023, but it seems as if he's now past the issue. The 34-year-old cornerback was used almost exclusively on special teams last season, playing a total of 102 snaps (86 on special teams) and recording four total tackles. Expect Goodwin to compete for a similar role in Dallas' special-teams unit this offseason.
