Jalen Green : Goes through shootaround
Green (illness) participated in Tuesday's morning shootaround, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports. Green is currently listed as questionable to face the Timberwolves on Tuesday night. He played through the illness in two previous outings, but sat out practice Monday as a result. For now, it appears that he may be closer to probable to suit up.
Steven Adams : Won’t play Tuesday
Adams (knee) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Timberwolves. Adams will miss the first half of Houston's upcoming back-to-back set, marking a second straight absence after he missed the second half of a back-to-back set Saturday. This is the first multi-game absence for the veteran since the beginning of the season, and he can be considered questionable for Wednesday's game in Philadelphia.
Jalen Green : Dealing with illness
Green is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Timberwolves due to an illness. Green has yet to miss a game this season and played through an illness after being listed as questionable last week. It's unclear if the two ailments are related, but if Green is sidelined, Amen Thompson and Reed Sheppard would be candidates for increased usage versus Minnesota. Notably, Fred VanVleet won't be suspended for the contest after making contact with an official which resulted in an ejection during Saturday's loss to Portland.
Fred VanVleet : Won’t be suspended
VanVleet won't be suspended for Saturday's incident with an official that resulted in an ejection, Adam Spolane of Sports Radio 610 Houston reports. The NBA acknowledged an incorrect call made against VanVleet, but the guard apologized for his unprofessionalism after the fact. He's expected to be in the lineup for Tuesday's game against Minnesota.
Jabari Smith : Shooting woes in loss Saturday
Smith totaled 14 points (3-10 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 5-6 FT), eight rebounds, one assist and three blocks across 37 minutes during Saturday's 104-98 loss to the Trail Blazers. On the surface, Smith had a solid showing and finished just two boards away from a double-double. However, he continues to struggle with his shot. He's made four or fewer field goals in four of his last five games despite averaging 8.4 shot attempts per game in that stretch. Smith has a secondary role in the Rockets' offensive scheme, but his lack of efficiency certainly limits his fantasy upside in most formats.
Fred VanVleet : Ejected late in fourth quarter
VanVleet amassed eight points (4-13 FG, 0-6 3Pt), five rebounds, five assists and one steal over 28 minutes before getting ejected from Saturday's 104-98 loss to the Trail Blazers. VanVleet had a woeful performance Saturday, missing all six of his three-point attempts, struggling to get into a rhythm offensively and getting ejected in the final seconds of the fourth quarter. Don't be surprised if VanVleet receives some kind of suspension, as he was ejected after making contact with an official and after appearing to poke the referee's eye. VanVleet should continue to operate as one of the Rockets' primary options on offense, but there's no doubt that he's been struggling a lot this season. It wouldn't be surprising if he receives some kind of suspension following his fourth-quarter antics in this loss.
Alperen Sengun : Struggles with shot Saturday
Sengun had 22 points (7-17 FG, 8-11 FT), five rebounds, five assists and two steals over 36 minutes during Saturday's 104-98 loss to the Trail Blazers. Sengun had another rough performance Saturday, and he had all sorts of problems dealing with Donovan Clingan's rim protection. Even though the star big man often finds a way to make an impact, and he did in the fourth quarter amid one of the Rockets' scoring runs, he wasn't comfortable dealing with Clingan's defensive presence. Sengun will be in line for another complicated matchup when facing Rudy Gobert and the Timberwolves on Tuesday.
Steven Adams : Sitting out against Portland
Adams (knee) is out for Saturday's game versus the Trail Blazers. Adams will miss Saturday's contest due to it being the second leg of a back-to-back. Jock Landale will likely once again operate as Houston's backup center to Alperen Sengun. Adams should be able to return to action for Tuesday's matchup with Minnesota.
