Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump will hold a rally in Sanford, Florida this afternoon, his fourth event in the state this week.
Donald Trump will speak from the Orlando Sanford International Airport Million Air beginning at 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time. The event can be viewed in the embedded YouTube player via Right Side Broadcasting.
During this rally, Trump will almost certainly discuss the recent report that Obamacare premiums are expected to increase by an average of 22 percent next year, according to CNN. This comes as many insurers are pulling out of the health care exchanges and consumers in some areas are left with very few options.
The majority of customers enrolled in Obamacare’s exchanges can receive subsidies from the federal government, and with these subsidies, about 77 percent of consumers will be able to get a plan that costs $100 or less even after these spikes in premiums. But those who don’t qualify for the subsidies will have to reexamine their choices, deciding whether to pay the rising premiums, pick a less expensive plan, or withdraw from the health care exchange altogether.
On Twitter today, Trump has been repeatedly blasting Obamacare following this report, calling it a disaster and using the hashtag “#ObamacareFail.”
Donald Trump has promised that he will repeal and replace Obamacare when elected president. Hillary Clinton says she will keep Obamacare but make substantial changes to it, including offering a public option to compete with private insurance.
