Charlie Sheen is facing a felony criminal investigation over threats he reportedly made toward his ex-fiancee during a conversation recorded by another woman, the New York Daily News reports.
The investigation began after Radar Online and the National Enquirer reported that Sheen threatened to pay $20,000 to have someone kill former porn star Scottine Ross, also known as Brett Rossi, during that recorded conversation. Radar says the Los Angeles Police Department served the site’s editors with a search warrant on Wednesday in an effort to acquire the tape.
After reading the Radar report, Ross went to the LAPD and obtained a temporary restraining order against Sheen, according to the Daily News.
Ross, 26, and Sheen, 50, called off their engagement in October 2014. They had been dating for about a year.
Here’s what you need to know:
1. Sheen Allegedly Said ‘This Piece of S**t Needs to be F***ing Buried’ About Ross in the Recording
Charlie Sheen made the threats during a recorded conversation with an unidentified woman, according to Radar Online. The audio has not been made public by the website. The woman also confronts Sheen about not telling her he was HIV positive.
In the recording, Radar Online claims, Sheen says of Ross, “This piece of sh*t needs to be f***ing buried. I’d rather spend 20 grand to have her head kicked in.”
According to Radar, police are also seeking the identity of the woman heard in the tape.
“Honestly, she’s terrified,” a source close to Ross told the New York Daily News. “He said he was going to pay someone $20,000 to kill her. Lots of people might say, ‘That’s just Charlie being Charlie,’ but we’ve lived through O.J. (Simpson). We don’t take this as a joke.”
Sheen’s lawyer, Marty Singer, told the Daily News, “This is a publicity stunt. The (temporary restraining order) was obtained without notice to Charlie Sheen or his attorney. I believe it is the first time someone obtained an order based on a story in a tabloid.”
2. Ross Claims in a Lawsuit She Was Abused by Sheen, Was Forced to Get an Abortion & Wasn’t Told He Was HIV-Positive
Ross filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court last year, accusing Sheen of assault, battery, intentional inflection of emotional distress, false imprisonment and negligence.
In the lawsuit she accuses Sheen of being abusive towards her during their relationship, of forcing her to have an abortion and of not telling her he was HIV positive before they had sex.

3. Ross Was Previously Married & Says Sheen Talked About Taking Out a Hit Against Her Ex-Husband
Before her engagement to Sheen, Scottie Ross was married to Jonathan Ross. They were married in 2011 in California. Their divorce was finalized in April 2014, after she had already started dating Sheen and following his proposal to her.
“At some point in January 2014, Sheen told (Scottine Ross) that he wanted to put a ‘hit’ on (her) ex-husband. (She) dismissed Sheen’s comments as ridiculous, but her persisted with these comments to the point where (Ross) began to believe he was serious,” she claims in the lawsuit. Ross says she pleaded with Sheen to stop talking about it, and he became enraged.
Ross also says she found text messages on Sheen’s phone indicating some sort of hit had been put out on her ex. She claims that when she confronted Sheen about it, he told her if the hit was traced back to him, he would say she ordered it and make sure she went to prison.
According to the lawsuit, Jonathan Ross sent Scottine Ross a photo showing a “suspicious unknown man wearing a hooded jacket knocking on his front door very late at night.”
In the lawsuit filed by Scottine Ross last year, she claims Charlie Sheen talked about taking out a hit against her ex-husband.
