WWE 2K Hack: 2K Reacts to Racist NBA 2K & Wrestling Facebook Vandalism

2K Sports’ Facebook pages were vandalized late Friday evening.

What seemed like a practical joke actually wasn’t as 2K’s WWE 2K and NBA 2K Facebook fan page were filled with racial slurs and posted online.

Below are screenshots of what was posted because the posts have since been deleted.

According to a previous report from Heavy’s Jack Fennimore: Grand Theft Auto, Bioshock, Borderlands 3, NBA 2K and WWE 2K franchises were also hacked.

The first Facebook post was published by 2K’s account at 9:38 p.m. ET and read: “f**k nba n***a.”

Following that post, another read: “n***er.”

Another post told followers that they were going to “release something insane on 2K” if they received 10,000 likes.

I spoke to a couple of representatives from 2K Sports this evening via text message. One rep shared that they are monitoring the situation and had no idea what happened.

Another told me via text message that they were shocked and couldn’t believe that someone would be crazy enough to pull a stunt like that.

Another rep shared with me via phone that they think that they’re hearing it was likely a “wrestling page that found a hack online and “they picked a good day, a Friday, no less” to pull a stunt like that.

2K posted an official response about the now-deleted Facebook posts via Twitter by stating:

We are aware that social media accounts across the 2K label have been compromised and offensive material is being posted that does not reflect the values of 2K or our partners. We are actively working to fix this as soon as possible.

According to posts on the WWE 2K page, the posts appear to be coming from two users who call themselves “nublom” and “aqua.” There may be more.

NBA 2K is one of the top selling video games and the sounds, feel and culture, create a premium user experience for fans.

The annual release of the game features the voices and likenesses of top broadcasters Kevin Harlan, Doris Burke, Chris Webber and David Aldridge during the games four quarters.

During the game’s halftime show, the likenesses of multi-award winning broadcaster, Ernie Johnson and NBA champions Kenny “The Jet” Smith and Shaquille O’Neal broadcast give fans the feel of watching TNT’s Inside The NBA on Thursday nights during the NBA season.

This year’s NBA 2K 20 game features the Los Angeles Lakers’ Anthony Davis and retired Miami Heat legend, Dwyane Wade as their cover athletes.

WWE 2K has been in existence since WWE 2K 12. The game’s developer is Yuke’s and Visual Concepts and published by 2K Sports.

This year’s WWE 2K 20 game feature Becky Lynch and Roman Reigns as their cover athletes.

The internet showed no mercy on 2K’s hack on a Friday and it’s likely that 2K and their social media team will be investigating this apparent vandalism through Monday.

Below is more commentary via Twitter from fans and observers who seem to find this hack quite commical and entertaining.
