Shawn Raymo, a soldier serving as a military police officer, and his wife, Jessica Raymo, were arrested on counts of using a child in a sexual performance and endangering the welfare of a child. Shawn allegedly watched his wife perform sexual acts with a 15-year-old girl over Skype while he was in Afghanistan.
Police allege that Jessica performed oral sex acts with the 15-year-old girl in front of her webcam while Shawn watched via Skype. The incident took place back in July 2011 when Shawn was deployed in Afghanistan as a military police officer.
Shawn returned from duty last fall. It is unclear whether the couple had an existing relationship with the 15-year-old, though sources indicate the girl was from an area near where the couple lives.
I think everyone can agree that this is a very serious situation and nothing is funny about sex acts with a child. That being said, Lt. Col. David Konop has one of the funniest quotes of all time about the situation:
“We are constantly trying to brief our soldiers on things that they should not be doing.”
