Two Canadians murdered in their U.S. winter home were asphyxiated, according to Florida police.

Rochelle Wise, 66, and her husband David Pichosky, 71, were prominent in the Toronto Jewish community.

They were vacationing at their Florida winter home in Hallandale Beach when they were discovered dead by a neighbour on January 10.

In a press conference held today in Florida, police said the couple was asphyxiated, and that there were very likely two or more suspects.

There were multiple culprits in this double homicide. And as we release more details of this homicide, you will find how senseless this murder is.

Police have put together a timeline tracking the couple’s whereabouts in the days before their death.

Hallandale Beach Police Chief Dwayne Flournoy says Wise and Pichosky were at the local Jewish temple on January 8, and later that evening were seen shopping at Walmart.

The couple video chatted with family back home in Toronto on the morning of January 9, and neighbours with whom they missed a scheduled lunch discovered their bodies on January 10.

Last month police released surveillance video that showed a woman walking around the side of the Wise and Pichosky home just before 11 a.m. on January 9. They are seeking information on the woman in the video.

Jamie Wise, the son of Rochelle Wise, told the CBC he’s hopeful that the $51,000 reward would lead to useful information that would help solve his mother and stepfather’s deaths.
