On May 7, a video hit the Internet of Cleveland police dragging away a children’s basketball hoop. When resident Cheri Fiorilli purchased the hoop for neighborhood children as a thank you for helping her with chores, she had no idea it would end in an altercation with police.
According to 19 Action News, it’s illegal to play basketball on the streets of Cleveland, and that’s why this week police came to confiscate the hoop, which sat near the curb.
In the video above you can even hear Fiorilli offer to move the hoop immediately only for the officer to response, “There’s no warning…There’s nothing I can do.” He took the hoop away and ticketed her, even threatening to arrest her if she did not comply.
