The chilling conversations between a Texas deputy sheriff and a suspect driving a stolen police vehicle being chased by other officers through Ellis County were captured on a police radio scanner that was being live streamed on the Internet.
The suspect, who told the officer his name was Miguel, was eventually killed after he told the deputy he was getting out of the stolen Chevrolet Tahoe to shoot at the officers. His last words can be heard on the audio before police open fire. A passenger in the stolen police vehicle, the suspect’s brother, was also killed.
The deputy can be heard trying to negotiate a peaceful ending with the suspect for more than two hours.
The chase began at about 10 p.m. after the suspect stole the Italy Police Department’s SUV following a traffic stop. The officer whose vehicle was taken was not injured, according to WFAA.
Officers chased the Tahoe for more than an hour, with the deputy negotiating with the suspect over the police radio.
When the suspect stopped, a standoff began. After negotiations broke down, the suspect could be heard on the radio (at 2 hours, 51 minutes of the above audio) telling the deputy, “I’m getting out and shooting you guys. Fu-”
According to WFAA, one of the men committed suicide, while the other was killed after pointing a shotgun at police.
