Surveillance video has been released by Sacramento, California, police showing the stabbing of French train hero Spencer Stone during a street fight Thursday morning.
Stone, a U.S. Air Force airman, was stabbed during a fight with several men, police said. According to the Sacramento News & Review, Stone was fighting off six men to protect a woman.
Police said they do not believe it was a random attack or related to terrorism. He was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition with serious injuries. He is expected to survive, according to the Sacramento Bee.
Stone and two other American friends, all from Sacramento, helped stop a gunman with an assault rifle from carrying out a terror attack on a train in August.
He had been out with friends Wednesday night, and had recently left the nightclub Badlands before the attack.
The suspects, described as Asian men wearing white T-shirts and jeans, fled from the scene in a dark gray or black 2009 to 2012 Toyota Camry, police said.
